Description
In waste treatment facilities, all water that comes into contact with the waste is collected and stored in a retention basin before being treated. These contaminated waters, called leachate, are expensive to treat, which is why operators are constantly seeking solutions to reduce rainwater infiltration in non-operational areas of the waste site.
One radical solution is to cover these areas with tarps. We have developed a high-quality and easy-to-install waste cover: the PE230, a high-density polyethylene tarp treated with UV-resistant polyethylene coating.
When cells are not in use, we can lay down large tarps up to 3000 m². On wooden or waste embankments, or on polluted soil, we can cover long stretches with tarps equipped with eyelets on each side to secure the tarp to the ground.
We manufacture these covers in large sheets with handling holes and a transport net (for very large surfaces) to easily move them according to site developments. We can also produce rolls with a width of 6 metres.
Of course, our temporary waste covers are offered with suitable weighting solutions. One solution to prevent the wind from catching the tarps is to place a small mesh net over them. This net breaks the wind and weights the tarp.
For weighting the temporary tarps, we also use sandbags or leaded ropes weighing 1 kg/m, which have the great advantage of being flexible, easily transportable, and fully adaptable to the terrain.
