Numerous measures are implemented to ensure that waste is treated to its maximum potential in order to avoid disposal: recycling, valorization, reuse, and repurposing as resources for a second life.
Sorting centers, treatment centers, and anaerobic digesters (for bio-waste) are part of the facilities that work towards waste reprocessing and transforming them into resources.
Once all possible treatment options have been exhausted, the waste is either landfilled or incinerated.
